19 essential vinyls you need for your collection from Lizzie McGuire to Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga - Artpop. (Urban Outfitters)

Vinyl records have become hugely popular over the last few years with more and more music lovers choosing the classic LP over CDs and download.

Last year sales of vinyl records in the UK were at the highest since the early 90s with 4.8 million sales, making up almost one in five of all albums purchased across 2020.

Artists themselves have taken advantage of vinyl records’ surging popularity, with established singers and bands releasing fan favourite albums onto vinyl for the first time while rising stars are releasing exclusive vinyls for their devoted fans.

If you’re starting out your vinyl records collection or wanting to add to your existing stock but want a little less of The Beatles and Rolling Stone and a little more Hilary Duff and Britney Spears, then look no further.

From The Lizzie McGuire Movie soundtrack to Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift to Lindsay Lohan there are plenty of vinyl records to build your collection.

We’ve compiled a list of just a handful of essential records that are also LGBT+ favourites you need to get.

He collaborated with independent artists on Instagram for the promo and more recently a clothing collab with Uniqlo inspired by the EP. The country record sees Kacey take the genre into the 21st century, with sound and visuals that feel like a warm summer’s day, but also, possibly an acid trip. Tracks like “High Horse” and “Rainbow” helped her become a new favourite of the gays as well as her appearance at the Met Gala as Barbie to name a few things. Lady Gaga – Artpop. (Urban Outfitters)

Justice for Artpop! The 2013 album from Gaga reached number one across the globe and was accompanied with a sold out world tour but it was still labelled a “flop” by some press and social media users because it didn’t match the heights of her previous albums. So now looking back on it many people consider it to be underrated. Maybe it was too ahead of it’s time for certain people? And yes, those people are tasteless. The Artpop vinyl is available from Urban Outfitters here.

Meanwhile Little Monsters in the US can get an amazing three-disc vinyl of The Fame Monster which features her breakout hits “Just Dance” and “Pokerface” and the album’s reissue singles like “Bad Romance” and “Telephone”.
