JoJo Siwa transforms into bona fide gay icon with epic Lady Gaga routine on DWTS

JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson perform the Cha Cha to "Rain on Me" by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande during an appearance on Dancing with the Stars

JoJo Siwa set the dancefloor on fire with a flawless performance to Lady Gaga on Dancing with the Stars, and fans can’t get enough.

After a stellar first week on Dancing with the Stars (DWTS), Siwa returned with a bang on Monday (27 September) with her partner, Jenna Johnson.

There’s been a lot of attention of Siwa and Johnson as they’re the first-ever same-sex duo to appear on the reality competition. Despite the pressure, the pair dazzled the judges with an energetic cha-cha dance to “Rain on Me” by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande amid some beautiful bisexual-themed lighting.

Siwa and her partner nailed absolutely every second of the performance and dominated the competition, ending up with one of the highest scores of the evening.

Honestly, there couldn’t have been a better song for JoJo Siwa to perform to. In January, Siwa posted a now-viral video on TikTok where she lip-synched and danced to Lady Gaga’s LGBT+ anthem “Born This Way”.

Just days later, Siwa came out in the most laid-back way on social media by sharing a photo of herself wearing a shirt that read “Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.” and said her cousin bought it for her.

Fans were living for Siwa’s performance to Lady Gaga’s popular queer anthem.

JoJo Siwa shared on Instagram that she is “still on cloud nine” after her Lady Gaga routine on DWTS. She said the dance was challenging for her but she was “sooooo proud of how it turned out” on the show.

“I am waiting to wake up from a dream. None of this feels real,” Siwa wrote.

She added that she is so “pumped” to appear on the show again that she was going to immediately start learning her routine for next week. She said she “can’t wait for everyone to see what’s in store for next week” which will be an epic homage to Britney Spears.
