Celebrity Big Brother star Chris Hughes – of Love Island fame – has been seen getting very cosy with singer JoJo Siwa during his time in the house, leaving a burning question on everyone’s lips: Does he have a girlfriend?
Chris Hughes and JoJo Siwa have been pictured cuddling in bed, scratching each other’s back, holding hands, and hugging, speaking rumours of a romance between them.
This is despite the fact there is a not-insignificant age gap between them (Chris Hughes is 32 and JoJo Siwa is 21) and that Siwa is in a serious relationship with her 27-year-old partner Kath Ebbs.
Ebbs has since disabled their Instagram comments after being targeted by trolls who repeatedly claimed that Siwa was cheating on them with Hughes.
Recently, all of the housemates received messages from home ahead of the final, but JoJo Siwa was later seen worrying about the content of hers, telling Big Brother that she felt let down by what she saw as a lack of emotion from Ebbs.
Fans seized on the fact that Ebbs didn’t write “I love you,” instead just saying that they were “keen to see” Siwa, deciding that it was “proof” that the non-binary 27-year-old influencer was unhappy with Siwa’s increasingly close bond with Hughes, which has proved to be one of the top talking points this series.
But what about Chris Hughes? Does he have a girlfriend or partner, or is he currently single? Here’s what we know.
Chris Hughes’ dating history
Hughes left Love Island with a girlfriend in Olivia Attwood, but the pair split shortly after exiting the villa.
At the time, Attwood said of their breakup: “You meet on this show and things are very different in the real world. You think ‘oh s**t do we actually have stuff in common? It wasn’t meant to be.”
Since then, Hughes has gone on to date Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson from 2019 to 2020 and later seen with professional golfer Annabel Dimmock until they split in 2022.
Hughes has kept quiet about his relationships in the last few years and has not been pictured cuddling up to anyone until his current stint on Celebrity Big Brother so as of now, it is safe to assume he is single.
It isn’t only fans who have commented on Hughes and Siwa’s relationship, with Drag Race UK star Danny Beard, saying: “know they’ve got a very special friendship but if my boyfriend saw me with anyone, regardless of gender like that, he’d have words.”
In the most recent episode of Celebrity Big Brother, JoJo Siwa said that she realised she is not a lesbian and said she wanted to use the term “queer” to identify herself.
