Eight moments from the opening night of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour that left us gagged

Beyoncé

Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter (Beyonce)

The Cowboy Carter tour has already broken into a strong gallop! Beyoncé launched things on Monday (28 April) at the SoFi Stadium, in Los Angeles, and, judging by social media, it looks incredible.

Monday’s performance marked the start of the 32-stop tour which, just like Renaissance before it, looks set to be filled with mesmerising performances, breath-taking visuals, and lots and lots of hits.

Footage shared across social media in the early hours of Tuesday has been more than enough to get members of the BeyHive around the world hyped for Cowboy Carter.

We’ve identified several moments from the opening night that have left us well and truly gagged.

Blue Ivy

Blue Ivy got one of the biggest cheers from night one of Cowboy Carter, dancing to a number of songs including “Déjà Vu”, “Formation” and “Ya Ya.”

Return of the robot arms

A fan-favourite from the Renaissance tour, the robot arms are back.

Beyoncé riding a mechanical bull

Beyoncé appeared on a glittering horse in her Renaissance era. Now, it’s a bull.

Horse shoe for Jolene

Singing her take on Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”, Beyoncé took to the skies on a giant horseshoe. Because, why not?

Diva sees diva

As seen in social media footage, Beyoncé picked out one fan in the crowd and sang “You such a diva,’ adapting the lyrics to her 2008 track.

The opera star

Queen Bey is well-known for her vocals and she did not disappoint, adding a touch of opera this time.

Hints about Act Three

Some fans have speculated that the stage for Cowboy Carter hints at the upcoming “Act III” project. This is based on the staging for Renaissance resembling a banjo, hinting at Act II’s country theme.

This time, the stage was shaped like an electric guitar, feeding speculation that Act III will be rock-and-roll-based.

The set list is fire

Cowboy Carter’s set list has Beyoncé going through almost her entire repertoire, touching on tracks from Renaissance, as well as hits such as “Crazy in Love.”
