People have applauded Zendaya for allowing the legend that is Diana Ross to have her moment at the Met Gala.
The ‘I’m Coming Out’ singer, 81, made a spectacular return to the Met Gala on Monday (5 May) night – her first since 2003.
To mark the occasion and the dress code of ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ the Motown legend wore a gigantic white gown with a matching feathered hat.
Not done yet, she completed the look with a massive train embroidered with the names of her children and grandchildren which required a small army of assistants on its own.
Simply put, she looked sensational! And someone else who seemed to agree is Euphoria star, Zendaya.
Footage captured at the event shows the Spider-Man: Homecoming icon holding back on the carpet to allow Diana Ross her moment in front of the cameras with her son Evan.
Zendaya was also seen interacting with Evan who stepped aside briefly to give his mother her solo moment.
Throughout the whole thing Zendaya – wearing a custom Louis Vuitton three-piece white suit with a wide brimmed hat – smiled and waited patiently.
The Dune actress, who has a proven track record of stunning on red carpets, then had her turn to show off her look. She then caught up with Ross on the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and again held back to give the ‘Upside Down’ singer her glorious moment uninterrupted.
Commenting on one video of Zendaya someone wrote: “Zendaya is literal perfection – in class and style.” Another said: “Zendaya is a gem!”
Someone else added: “I’ve never seen Zendaya pale in comparison to anyone but the one and only Diana Ross, now that’s rarefied air right there. She is legendary and she looked like a Queen. Zendaya looks amazing too.”
