RuPaul’s Drag Race star Aja appears to have come out as bisexual, saying she’s “been in denial about it.”

The All Stars 10 queen came out as a trans woman in 2021 saying she had lived “as non-binary since 2018 and have recently began to identify more with the feminine aspect of my identity.” Having used they/them pronouns she updated them to she/her.

On Sunday (11 May) the ballroom performer took to X, formerly Twitter, to post: “Had the realization today that I am definitely bisexual and have been in denial about it. Welp. I guess I’m coming out. I’m bisexual.”

The tweet was screenshotted by Out though it looks like it has since been taken down. The outlet reported one person as commenting it was “A win for the girls,” while someone else added: “Welcome!!”

Aja has not posted anything about coming out as bisexual on Instagram at the time of writing. She has however posted several shots of a dramatic look that she described as expressing her light and dark sides.

In one post’s caption Aja wrote, “This look is for that version of me. The one who crawled through the dark with nothing but her own fire. The one who got back up .. again and again until the light finally came back.

“To the pain that nearly swallowed me… thank you for sharpening me. But you don’t own me anymore. I’m not perfect. But I am transformed. And this time, the light stays on. For good.”

In 2018 Aja said that she no longer identified as a drag queen, saying that her performance is “just an extension of my gender identity.”

Then in 2021, she made a triumphant return to the art form, telling fans that she has realised “trans is who I am and drag is what I do.” She also said: “I have battled a very intense gender dysphoria since 2018.”

In 2022 Aja returned to TV screens as a competitor on the third season of HBO Max’s Legendary.

The first two episodes of All Stars 10 are streaming now on Paramount+ and WOW Presents Plus. Episode one is available to watch in full on the WOWPresents YouTube channel.
