From the small screen to the big screen, I Kissed A Girl‘s Amy Spalding is set to star as one of three leads in a new short film from Lena Dunham.
Appearing on the first series of the BBC’s all-female dating show last year, Amy was one of the stand-out characters, bringing warmth, flair and boots, boots, boots to the Masseria.
She’s now set to appear alongside Romeo & Juliet star Francesca Amewudah-Rivers and Too Much‘s Daisy Bevan in Notice Me, a new short film produced by Girls creator Lena Dunham.
Variety reports Notice Me to be “a messy heartfelt romantic comedy about queer longing and the ridiculous lengths lesbians go to for connection and sexy sapphic neighbors.

“Em and AJ, newly neighbors and soon to be more than neighbors, find their worlds colliding in London’s East End.”
Also starring will be drag performer includes Chiyo Kenn Gomes aka Chiyo. Also featured are Elliot Douglas, Francis Ezekiel, and Paul Longley.
Amy Leonard, who worked on the Netflix series Too Much with Durham, is set to direct with a script written by Jody Wiltshire.
Leonard said on Wednesday (14 May): “This is my absolute dream project In a time of such uncertainty for LGBTQA+ people in the UK right now, I am completely humbled to be able to create something that’s sole purpose is championing queer joy.”
Dunham added that she was “thrilled and honoured to be a part of it.”
Variety reports Notice Me is set to be released later this year.
