All Stars 10 icon Bosco has claimed that the orange bracket of queens recorded their verses for the season’s premiere ‘rumix’ challenge ‘two days’ before they had even started filming.
Warning: Sickening spoilers ahead for the first two episodes of All Stars 10.
Well, it’s happened – the Tournament of All Stars, otherwise known as All Stars 10, has finally kicked off, with six of its eighteen-strong cast sashaying into the Werk Room for their second (or third, or fourth) chance to snatch the crown.
In the premiere episode, the Orange Bracket, which consists of season 3’s Phoenix, season 9 and All Stars 3‘s Aja, season 13’s Olivia Lux, season 14’s Bosco and Deja Skye and season 15’s porkchop Irene the Alien, all wrote, recorded and performed a rock ‘n’ roll verse to “Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner”.
During the episode, viewers saw the queens pore over the notepads and attempt to jot down some witty verses that were somehow different to the classic “Come on, Mama Ru, I’m gonna snatch the crown!”. Apart from apparently, no they didn’t.
In a TikTok from a viewing party posted by user @cribelly, Bosco is seen sat next to purple group queen Denali, and spilled some piping hot tea on the challenge’s proceedings.
“We go in there, and we have to pretend to write things down,” Bosco said of the televised ‘verse-writing’ session in the episode. “We’ve already recorded the verses.”
Explaining properly, she said, “So we get into the hotel like two days beforehand. And then [production] is like, ‘OK, in about an hour, you’re going to have to go to the studio and record your verse.’
“So we move all of our stuff to the hotel room, they tell us we have to listen to the track, we write our verse, we get carted off to a recording studio. We do all of that before we even step on set to film [for the entrances].
“We haven’t even got on camera yet, and we’ve already fully done the backing track, so we’re faking writing our lyrics in the Werk Room.” Gag.
Season 16‘s Dawn, who was also at the viewing party in New York, chimed in, “We did that on season 16 for [writing challenge] ‘Power’.”
That’s not the only BTS to have been spilled concerning All Stars 10; Nicole Paige Brooks recently claimed that a certain season 14 queen was meant to be on the cast, but dropped out last minute.
With team orange the first to enter the ring, team purple consists of Acid Betty, Alyssa Hunter, Cynthia Lee Fontaine, Daya Betty, Denali and Ginger Minj, while the pink sisters are Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Lydia B Kollins, Nicole Paige Brooks, Jorgeous, Tina Burner and Kerri Colby.
As a wise woman once said, “We can’t wait to see how this turns out.”
RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 will be available to stream on Paramount+ in the US and WOW Presents Plus internationally from 9 May.
