The first trailer for season two of The Ultimatum: Queer Love is packed with drama and tears.

The series was Netflix’s first LGBTQ+ dating show. Hosted by JoAnna Garcia Swisher, it joined the similarly-themed I Kissed A Boy, shown on the BBC. Since then, we’ve also had I Kissed A Girl.

Six couples will put their relationships to the test in The Ultimatum: Queer Love. They are split up and allowed to date other contestants before choosing one person for a three-week “trial marriage”.

The couples then reunite with their original partner and have to decide whether to marry each other, someone else, or walk away single.

The new trailer wastes no time in getting to the drama. It opens with Pilar in tears as she tells her partner Haley: “My worst fear was that I would get to a point where I was ready and you were falling in love with someone else. Now it’s happening.”

When we were first introduced to the cast earlier this month, it was said that Haley gave Pilar the ultimatum.

Immediately after, Pilar seemingly pours her heart out, while Haley appears to, somewhat indifferently, say: “Can we be done?”

Elsewhere, other contestants lay out their positions and Marie confidently says: “Marry me, or I move on.”

Ashley and Bridget engage in a pottery-making session, mimicking Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze in Ghost, and we also see Dayna and Mel meet – and the vibes seem cute.

As things get more serious, Dayna asks her OG partner: “You just wanna walk away now?” A tearful Magan replies, “I don’t know if I can get past certain things if they were to happen.”

Meanwhile, Britney wonders aloud to her OG partner, AJ: “I just hope that me bringing you here wasn’t a mistake.” This is followed by one contestant saying off camera, “It’s definitely possible to fall in love with two different people.”

Another tearful contestant declares: “My heart is shattered,” as Magan, who was offered the ultimatum by Dayna, says, “I can’t believe I wanted to marry you.”

Someone else then proclaims: “Lesbians are brutal!”

One person responded on YouTube by saying: “Yay, that’s the best one. Release the lesbians.” Someone else warned: “Don’t cross the angry lesbians.”

Meanwhile, a few people showed called on drag queens Trixie Mattel and Katya to feature the new season on their YouTube series I Like to Watch, after the pair tuned into one episode of the first series.

“I cannot wait for Trixie and Katya to react to this,” one fan wrote.

Season two of The Ultimatum: Queer Love will be streaming from 25 June.
