Marlon Wayans has shared a sweet Pride Month tribute, stating “you can be straight and still love gay people”.

White Chicks star Wayans, who revealed in 2023 that his son Kai is trans, took to Instagram on Tuesday (3 June) to share a sweet Pride Month tribute.

The outspoken LGBTQ+ ally wrote: “Happy Pride to all my LGBTQ peeps. From my block to my schools to my cast and crews to my friends to my family… where ever you are or have been in my life I wish you all love and support.

“You can be a straight man and still love gay people.”

Last year, Wayans also showed for the LGBTQ+ community by sharing a Pride Month post on Instagram, then trolling bigots how reacted negatively to it.

Wayans has spoken candidly about coming to terms with his trans child’s identity, previously revealing: “I went from denial to complete acceptance. It took me a week to get there.

“What I’ve learned as a parent is for you to stop loving your child because of their choice and their life, that’s a poor reflection on you.

“When there’s people that go: ‘I’m not going to associate with you because you do that’, or ‘this is against God’, listen, I am not here to judge. I am not God. Only God can judge… and if that’s a mistake and we get to heaven and God don’t let my child in, [I’ll] shave her beard and sneak him in through the back.”

He continued: “But I’m going to love my baby, I’m a father. I’m always going to defend them, I’m always going to protect them, I’m always going to respect them.”
