Primavera Sound 2025 sent queers flocking to Barcelona over the weekend for possibly the gayest line-up for the festival yet.
The annual music festival held in early June brings some of the biggest names in the music industry to Barcelona, Spain for an extended weekend of tunes.
This year’s event, which took place between Wednesday (4 June) and Sunday (8 June), was bursting with queer icons, allies, energy and full-on inclusive magic.
Artists appearing centre-stage this year included Troye Sivan, Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, Magdalena Bay, IDLES, FKA Twigs.
Other stars joining the line-up include Denzel Curry, AMORE, Sabrina Carpenter, Heal, Tramhause, Fontaines DC, Glass Beams, and more.
Overall, there are almost 150 artists featuring in the packed festival, according to Tenement TV.
Fans who flocked to Primavera Sound this year are already saying the festival’s line-up was the queerest yet.

The festival was, in 2023, the first to be awarded a distinction grade by the Queer Destinations program, which aims to designate safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people across the globe.
If the rainbow-clad line-up of queer artists weren’t enough, Primavera Sound also ensure maximum safety of its festival-goers with the “Nobody is Normal” protocol – a project started in 2019 aiming to make the festival as queer-friendly as possible.
At the festival there are two information points where people can immediately report incidents of gender-based violence and seek support from trained staff members.
The festival was founded in 2001 by Pablo Soler as a showcase for Spanish noise bands, originally held at the Poble Espanyol before moving to the Parc del Fòrum in 2005.
So, was this Primavera’s gayest line-up yet? Potentially. But more than that — it’s probably its most intentional, inclusive and welcoming.
