Perks of Being a Wallflower hunk Logan Lerman spends most of his new romantic comedy Oh, Hi! “tied to a bed” and “naked” – and we will be seated.
Let’s pause a second to catch our breath; Logan Lerman, best known for playing the titular demigod in the two live-action Percy Jackson films and making everyone cry in 2012’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower, is returning to the big screen for his new rom-com, Oh, Hi!
The film, which co-stars Molly Gordon (Theater Camp) and Lerman as Iris and Isaac, respectively, will see the couple on a romantic weekend road trip – until Isaac reveals he didn’t realise the pair were dating.
As glimpsed in the first trailer for the film, the pair’s cabin for the weekend comes with some extra toys, and Isaac is tied to the bed for some fun time; that’s when Iris says that she didn’t expect their “first trip as a couple” to feel so easy, and Isaac – naked and chained up – says, “You’re great, I’m just not looking for a relationship right now.”
Isaac then spends the rest of the weekend gagged, naked and tied to a bed (classic) while Iris tries to convince him to fall in love with her.
Speaking to People Magazine at the 13 June premiere for Oh, Hi! at the Tribeca Festical, Lerman said, “It’s like, ‘I’ve never seen this before. I’m going to have to act for most of the time, tied to a bed, completely naked,'” adding that the process was, “a little weird, a little different.”
On how Lerman prepared for the role, it transpires that he… didn’t. “You avoid it. You push it off to the corner of your mind, you forget about it, and then you show up and go, ‘I guess I’m doing this today,'” he said.
Oh, Hi will also star Drive Away Dolls and Thunderbolts* icon Geraldine Viswanathan, John Reynolds, David Cross and Polly Draper.
Oh, Hi! had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival in January, and is scheduled to be given a limited theatrical release in the United States 25 July.
