After several comments targeting the pair’s 18-year age gap were posted underneath a TikTok of the couple at the premiere, Camp herself clapped back.

“Thought I’d jump on here … and just say I’ve dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them,” Anna Camp wrote in response to hate comments.
She continued: “We have more in common than anyone else I’ve ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything.
“Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I’m wishing everyone well 🙂 Especially this Pride month.”
Users in the comments have also jumped to Camp’s defence, with one writing, “Age gaps in queer relationships are very common and don’t often elicit the same power imbalances as hetero relationships given we live in a patriarchal society that prioritises men being in power and women being objectified.”
Since coming out, Camp said that she has felt “so welcomed and supported” by the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.
The star was asked by a social media reporter what she expects from a guy on the first date in a TikTok in May.
Camp indicated Whipkey, next to her, and responded: “I don’t expect anything, not anymore! Because I’m dating a woman, and it’s great”.
