Stars of Heartstopper, Young Royals, and RuPaul’s Drag Race UK are coming together for a joint slay as part of a new show at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

The Fit Prince (who gets switched on the square in the frosty castle the night before [insert public holiday here]) is the latest show from Awkward Productions. This no-doubt insane show follows the hilarious and wacky productions Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story and Gwyneth Goes Skiing.

A plot synopsis for The Fit Prince reads: “A camp, chaotic romcom set in the fictional kingdom of Swedonia, it’s a queer parody of the holiday movie genre – with real-life couple Linus Karp and Joseph Martin (who are also getting married for real at the Festival, in front of a live audience) playing a prince in need of a spouse and the reluctant New York baker drafted in to make his wedding cake.

“It’s the first time the pair have played romantic leads opposite each other on stage. The show features original music by Leland, whose credits include work with Troye Sivan, Kylie Minogue and Selena Gomez, as well as being the resident songwriter and producer for RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

Led by Karp and Martin The Fit Prince will also feature appearances from Heartstopper‘s Sebastian Croft as Prince Balthazar of Bashington, Young Royals‘ Malte Gårdinger as Prince Carsten of Markden, and Drag Race UK‘s Kate Butch as Angela Merkel.

Tove Lo, Sebastian Croft, Joshua Whitehouse, Malte Gårdinger, Misia Butler, Jeremy McClain, Kate Butch, Julia Bender, Geri Allen, Max Lindsay, Kate Marlais, and Sam Carlyle (Provided)

But that’s not all, as they’ll be joined by Grammy-nominated pop icon Tove Lo (making her theatrical debut as the Prime Minister of Swedonia) as well as Pose‘s Jeremy McClain. Commenting on her role, Lo said: “I’m The Prime Minister of Swedonia, bitch.”

The Fit Prince also stars Joshua Whitehouse, Misia Butler, Geri Allen, Julia Bender, Max Lindsay, Kate Marlais, and Sam Carlyle.

All guest stars will appear via pre-recorded video segments and won’t be onstage themselves. But their cameos are said to “bring much sparkle, chaos and camp to this gloriously queer holiday parody.”

The Fit Prince will first play from 30 July to 25 August 2025 at Pleasance Beyond before transferring to London’s King’s Head Theatre this winter.
