Season 2 of Wednesday has got a brand new trailer and it’s revealed (ahem) a hell of a lot more than the first one, although one character is notable for her absence.
Jenna Ortega is returning as the titular Addams family member with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, returning as Morticia, Gomez and Pugsley respectively.
The trailer opens with the Addams car driving towards Nevermore Academy as Morticia remarks, “This is the first time you’ve ever willingly returned to a school. How does it feel?”

Wednesday replies, “Like returning to the scene of the crime. I already know where the bodies are buried.”
As “The Phantom of the Opera’ from the musical of the same name plays, somehow even more dramatic and macabre than the original, we see glimpses of life at Nevermore.
Now a star thanks to her heroics last season Wednesday meets the new headteacher, Barry Dort (Steve Buscemi) who says, “It’s an honour to meet the saviour of Nevermore.”
Wednesday’s antics have earned her a legion of fans as a group of girls request an autograph and are unfazed when Wednesday indicates she will only sign it in their blood. Wednesday also returns to her dorm room to find thank you messages plastered over the door.

Reuniting with Enid (Emma Myers) her roommate promises, “We’re going to have so much fun.” But not long after we see Wednesday telling someone “I’m where fun goes to die.”
It does appear to be the case as the drama for season two is laid out. Wednesday has a premonition of finding Enid’s grave as black tears run down Wednesday’s face.
Even worse though is the admission, “It’s all my fault,” that Wednesday makes to her mother. Morticia then says, “I will not let history repeat itself.”
As the trailer picks up the pace we see more of Joanna Lumley in her turn as Grandmama. While shooting she tells Wednesday, “Women like us, we forge our own path. Dig our own grave.”

We also catch sight of Hunter Doohan‘s character, Tyler, as well as his monstrous alter ego, Hyde.
The trailer ends with Wednesday announcing herself: “Wednesday Addams is here. It’s Addams two d’s, like padded room.”
A noticeable absence from the trailer is that of Lady Gaga, who is starring as Rosaline Rotwood. Her character is set to appear in the second part of the series. A character description from Netflix reads: “Mysterious and enigmatic, Rosaline Rotwood is a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.”
Season two will be shown in two parts. The first will debut on 6 August with the second following on 3 September.
Season one of Wednesday is streaming on Netflix now.
