Pedro Pascal is setting the standard for trans allyship once again after telling the community: “You inspire me.”

The acclaimed 50-year-old actor expressed his admiration for the trans community in a recent interview, saying that trans people are a “symbol of courage.”

“You inspire fear in those that are afraid of being their true selves,” he continued. “I think that’s the threat, your joy, and your radical bravey in living your life in joy.”

Making the heartfelt comments during an interview as part of an Australian press tour for Marvel’s Fantastic Four: First Steps, Pascal even had the chance to update his co-star, Vanessa Kirby, on some queer colloquiolisms.

After Pedestrian.TV journalist, Bek Manibog, asked the 37-year-old actress how she used her “snatched c*nty fierceness face” to become a social media icon, a confused Kirby exclaimed: “Oh, God! I don’t know if that’s a good thing.”

Jumping in to reassure his now confused co-star, Pascal turned to Kirby and said: “It’s a good thing, babe.”

“C*nty just means fierce, fabulous, beautiful, strong. It’s good, it’s good,” he explained.

Not content with simply being an unapologetic ally to the trans community and to his trans sister, Lux, Pedro Pascal has proved he knows a thing or two about the community’s wider culture.

He made waves after appearing at the Marvel’s Thunderbolts* premiere wearing a “Protect the Dolls” shirt; a synonym for “trans rights” which has risen in popularity over the past few years.

Earlier this month, the Last of Us actor said during the Fantastic Four: First Steps premiere that it was “important to protect” trans people, calling them a “vulnerable, inspiring, couragous, and brave community.”

The star says he has been overwhelmed by the public support for his comments, admitting to Vanity Fair that he wasn’t sure his voice was helping.

“The one thing I agonised over a little bit was am I helping? Am I f**king helping? It’s a situation that deserves the utmost elegance so that something can actually happen, and people will actually be protected,” he said.

“Listen, I want to protect the people I love. But it goes beyond that. Bullies make me f**king sick.”
