The cast of the new season of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins has been officially announced and it includes Drag Race star Bimini and singer Lucy Spraggan.

The survival show features celebrities facing the tough environments that UK special forces operatives are put through in training. This series will be set in Wales, the home of the first phase of SAS selection.

Others set to test their mettle are former footballers Adebayo Akinfenwa and Troy Deeney, professional boxer Conor Benn, choreographer and TV presenter Louie Spence, model and dancer Tasha Ghouri, The Traitors winner, Harry Clark, former S Club 7 favourite Hannah Spearritt, and wellness guru Rebecca Loos, a former glamour model probably still best-known for claiming she had an affair with David Beckham.

Also among the line-up are Love Island stars Chloe Burrows and Adam Collard, musician Lady Leshurr and one of the “Peru Two” drug mules Michaella McCollum.

The celebrities will have all luxuries taken away from them as they’re challenged by instructors Chris, Foxy, Billy and Rudy to discover new things about themselves.

“I hope I can walk away feeling I’ve actually achieved something here, that I’ve really pushed myself to the edge of my boundaries and put myself in a position which is beyond something I could have even imagined a year ago,” said Pineapple Dance Studios star Spence.

“This is different to anything I’ve ever been part of before. There’s no fluff, no glitter, no getting myself out of a situation with a quick bit of wit.”

Meanwhile, Bimini said: “I want to prove to myself that I can do it. No glam, no red carpets, no magazine covers. This is just going to be me to my core.

“I’m doing this to remind them that behind every opinion is a human being. The course, the SAS and the army have got a very masculine stereotype and I’ve got both elements of masculine and feminine and that’s my superpower. Vulnerable, raw and stronger than ever. This bleached rat tail is gonna f**k it up.”

Spraggan, who first came to the public’s attention on The X-Factor in 2012, hoped she had “the mental grit” to make it all the way. “I have been through quite a lot in my life,” she said. “And I’ve done a lot of work to navigate what that left behind. I hope I can apply it to the course and make it all the way to the end.

“I’ve always wanted to do this course and what I love about [it] is the sheer pressure it puts on a human being, that you will just not get anywhere else in life.”

Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins is due to start at 9pm on Channel 4 on 3 August. New episodes will then be available every Sunday and Monday.
