RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 winner Ginger Minj is feeling a whole lot of love after finally becoming a Drag Race champ, with one fellow winner – Trixie Mattel – offering her some sweet advice.
Ginger Minj became the victor of All Stars 10 last week, after ten years of trying and four separate attempts.
The actress and musician first competed on Drag Race season seven alongside Trixie Mattel in 2015, before appearing on All Stars 2 in 2016, and All Stars 6 in 2021.
While Ginger’s win was undoubtedly deserved, considering she won four challenges out of the five she competed in, she has faced harsh backlash from some members of the Drag Race fandom who have criticised the show’s producers for “favouritism”.
Yet it seems that Ginger is able to block out the haters and is focussing on all the love she’s receiving, including from her fellow Drag Race winners.

Trixie Mattel, who won All Stars 3 back in 2018 after originally coming in sixth place on season seven, phoned Ginger the day after her big win.
“After the dust had kind of settled a little bit, Trixie called me and we had a long heart-to-heart,” Ginger revealed to The Hollywood Reporter.
“And she just said, ‘I’m so proud of you. You’ve achieved this goal that’s so cool, and you’ve wanted it for so long.’ And she said, and ‘There’s days now, like 10 years later, almost, where I look at my [All Stars 3] crown and go, ‘Oh my god, it’s so cool. It’s so cool that I did this thing.’”
Ginger Minj revealed that Trixie Mattel, who has become one of the most successful queens to come from the Drag Race franchise, also shared some sweet advice on how to focus on the positives post winning the show.

“She said, ‘But you’re also getting all of the people who are giving you backhanded compliments of, ‘Congratulations on your win, ignore the haters’. She said, ‘Just don’t entertain any of it. You know why you did it, you know why you deserve to win and you just kind of have to live in that moment for yourself before you can start entertaining the good or bad from anybody else.’
“So it was really nice to hear that from somebody that I respect so much,” Ginger added.
Trixie, who will soon appear on Amelia Dimoldenberg’s Chicken Shop Date series, wasn’t the only Drag Race icon to share congratulations with Ginger.
The Hocus Pocus star revealed that she is still “really close” with the cast of All Stars 6, and that her fellow finalists shared their congrats.
“Ra’Jah [O’Hara] and Kylie [Sonique Love] were two of the first people in my DMs going, ‘Oh my god sister, we’re so proud of you! This is so exciting.’
“All Stars 6 filmed at the height of the pandemic, and we had all been locked up in our houses for so long that we were just so happy to be in a room full of people creating art and doing drag and having a good time, and I think that’s why we’re all still so close”.

Despite all the warm wishes, Ginger Minj’s win has sparked such intense backlash online that fellow Drag Race stars have had to speak up publicly to defend her.
Meanwhile, RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star River Medway stated that she would “never” return to Drag Race due to the fandom’s “unhinged” reaction.
Even still, Ginger Minj is taking all of it in her stride. Speaking to Gold Derby recently, she said that she was happy to see her haters “eat themselves”.
“I’m so focused on what’s in front of me, the love and positivity. It’s kind of a one-sided fight with all of these people. Let the monsters eat themselves, and I’ll just continue to do what I do, and do it to the best of my ability,” she said.
RuPaul’s Drag Race is streaming on WOW Presents Plus.
