Out pro wrestlers Che Monet and Adam Bolt have fought in the first-ever all-LGBTQ+ title match for TNT Extreme Wrestling.

The British pro wrestling promotion made LGBTQ+ history for the company with the Saturday (26 July) event, in which out gay wrestler Monet and out bisexual wrestler Bolt faced off during an Ultra X championship match.

As part of TNT Extreme Wrestling’s annual “Summer Explosion”, the long-term rivals delivered what was promised to be an explosive match.

After Bolt pledged to “come for that TNT Ultra X Championship” in a previous press conference, one moment saw the star delivering an impressive table spot on a pile of onlookers.

However, ultimately, it was Monet who came out on top and defended his title. The champion hit his rival via a high-octane powerdrop onto the ring before successfully claiming his win.

It was all in good spirits, though. Monet posted a picture alongside his rival days later, writing, “A weekend spent with my wrestling soulmate.”

It’s not the first time the pair have made LGBTQ+ history with the promotion. In 2023, Monet was crowned the first out LGBTQ+ TNT Extreme World Champion, and also became the first out LGBTQ+ TNT Extreme Ultra X winner earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Bolt is still holding onto his True Grit Wrestling Pride title, and became the first wrestler to hold multiple Pride championship titles last year.

The promotion has cemented itself as an LGBTQ+-inclusive company, after increasing the number of pro wrestlers from the queer community on its fight cards.

It has also partnered to host the annual UK version of EFFY’S Big Gay Brunch. The event is described as showcasing the UK’s premiere celebration of LGBTQ+ wrestling talent” alongside “gay icon Effy”.

“We’re putting on the biggest, gayest, wildest shows you’ve ever seen,” Effy said of the event, which is set to hit Liverpool’s Fusion Nightclub in September.

Monet has been confirmed for the upcoming event, alongside Sonny Kiss, who challenged Monet for his title following his win. “Kiss this,” he responded to Sonny on Instagram. “I’m eating good.”
