Fans at Lollapalooza 2025 were thrilled when Sabrina Carpenter brought iconic band Earth, Wind & Fire on to the stage.
Sabrina Carpenter, who has raised over $1 million for charities, including LGBTQ+ causes, over the past year, was joined by the American band, who ruled the charts in the 70s and 80s with songs such as “Boogie Wonderland” and “September”, at Lollapalooza which took place at Chicago’s Grant Park on Sunday (3 August).

Fans took to social media to praise the surprise collaboration. “Sabrina said legends only and meant it. Earth, Wind & Fire? Unreal,” one person wrote, while another described it as “iconic behaviour”.
Someone else said: “I cannot believe I saw the Earth, Wind & Fire. I love me some Sabrina, don’t get me wrong. But I was truly in shock. I don’t know who I thought she was going to bring out but it wasn’t them and it was a dream come true.”

Others wrote: “Simply brilliant and divine,” and “Sabrina Carpenter bringing out Earth, Wind & Fire? Total legend move! Grooving with them was such a vibe: pure joy and nostalgia! Loved her dancing and hyping the crowd. What a way to close the fest.”
Fans also recently jumped to Sabrina Carpenter’s defence after she faced criticism over the cover of her new album.
Carpenter had announced a month earlier that her next album would be called Man’s Best Friend.
The cover art for the album showed the former Disney star on her hands and knees, wearing a short black dress and heels. She appeared to be petting the leg of a man standing over her and pulling her hair. However, some people took issue with the seemingly submissive position the singer is in. “This cover art is so disgusting. As a fan, I don’t like it,” one person wrote.
Other people took to the comments more analytically, arguing it was once again Carpenter playing with her image, how people perceive her, and how she chooses to respond.
As one person put it: “Being kinky is not being anti-feminist.”
Man’s Best Friend is due to be released on 29 August but can be pre-ordered now.
