RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Alaska Thunderf**k has confirmed that she and her long-term partner, Matthew Herrmann, are engaged.
Last night (4 August), the beloved RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 2 winner shared a photo of her hand glowing with a thick silver ring on her ring finger.
She simply captioned the photo with two ring emojis and two loved-up emojis, with her fans and fellow Drag Race sisters guessing in the comments that she is officially betrothed.
The Race Chaser co-host later confirmed her engagement in a statement provided to Entertainment Weekly.
“My longtime partner Matthew Herrmann proposed to me yesterday,” Alaska shared, adding that he did so after the pair celebrated Alaska’s grandma’s 90th birthday.
“I love him so much and he’s the best,” she added.
Alaska described Herrmann as a “Los Angeles-based producer and educator”.

Herrmann has shared several photos of himself with Alaska on his Instagram page, including one of the pair behind the scenes at Off-Broadway show Drag: The Musical, which Alaska co-wrote the lyrics and music to.
Following her cryptic post on Instagram, Alaska was inundated with congratulative messages, including from her fellow Drag Race alumni.
“Omg congrats lasky!!” wrote All Stars 10 star Denali, while RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs The World season one winner Blu Hydrangea simply posted several love-eyed emojis.
“Congrats sis!” added All Stars 5 winner Shea Couleé, as season six favourite Kelly Mantle wrote: “Conratz!”
Actress Rose McGowan celebrated the news with a string of clapping and love heart emojis.
Alaska was previously in a long-term relationship with Drag Race season four winner Sharon Needles. Their romance lasted for four years up to 2013, the year that Alaska first appeared on season five of Drag Race, finishing as a runner-up.
She returned three years later in 2016 for All Stars 2, which she won.
