South Park‘s criticism of the Trump administration continued in the second episode of its 27th season, which mocked US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
(Warning, contains spoilers for South Park season 27, episode 2)
In the episode, titled ‘Got A Nut’, which aired on Comedy Central on Wednesday (6 August), Mr. Mackey loses his job as counsellor of South Park Elementary due to cuts to Department of Education funding and has to join the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to make up the short fall in his finances.
After joining the law enforcement agency, he watches an orientation video featuring Kristi Noem.
“Welcome to the team, recruits. I’m Kristi Noem, head of Homeland Security,” the fictitious version of Noem says. “A few years ago, I had to put my puppy down by shooting it in the face, because sometimes doing what’s important means doing what’s hard.”
Noem then jumps out of an ICE van and shoots a puppy dead.
“Now, we’ll ask the same determination of you. Because detaining and questioning people is never easy,” Noem urges, before once again shooting an innocent dog.
“As the face of Homeland Security, I’ll be leading the way,” Noem continues whilst in a bath with a glass of wine, before pulling a gun from the water and shooting a third dog.
“And together, we’ll make sure everyone’s in this country legally. So, let’s get out there and get ’em recruits! Together, we can make it happen.”

The dog shooting is a direct reference to the politicians 2024 book No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics in which she detailed how she put her dog down herself using a gun, after it bit her.
Mr. Mackey, Noem and other officers then get sent out to raid a local production of Dora the Explorer Live.
As ICE bursts in, people in the crowd panic and the fictitious Noem urges calm, before noticing a service dog and shooting it dead.
Noem and ICE were not the only ones being prodded at in the episode by the South Park team, as they once again mocked Donald Trump who the previous week they had depicted as having an affair with king of hell Satan himself.
This time round, vice president JD Vance is shown as a toddler sized assistant to Trump, with his voice much like that of Tattoo from ‘80s TV series Fantasy Island.
In the episode, Vance functions as a subservient lapdog and is frequently insulted by the Republican president.
At one point, Vance offers to “apply the baby oil to Satan’s a**hole” for Trump.

Unsurprisingly, the Trump administration has not taken too kindly to the South Park team mocking the Republican leader, with a spokesperson saying after the season 27 premiere that the show “hasn’t been relevant for 20 years”.
“The Left’s hypocrisy truly has no end – for years they have come after South Park for what they labeled as ‘offense’ content, but suddenly they are praising the show,” White House spokesperson Taylor Rogers told Variety.
“Just like the creators of South Park, the Left has no authentic or original content, which is why their popularity continues to hit record lows.”
He continued: “This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention.
“President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail Ppesident Trump’s hot streak.”

However, when the second episode was teased, the X account for the United States Department of Homeland Security lifted a still from the trailer as a means of promoting recruitment for ICE.
“JOIN.ICE.GOV,” the department wrote in the post on X, with a link to its recruitment site.
In a subsequent statement to Newsweek, a spokesperson thanked South Park for “attention to ICE law enforcement recruitment”.
“We are calling on patriotic Americans to help us remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and other violent criminals from our country,” the spokesperson said. “Benefits available to new ICE recruits include an up to $50,000 signing bonus, student loan forgiveness, and retirement benefits. Apply today at join.ice.gov.”
“Wait, so we ARE relevant? #eatabagofdicks,” the official South Park account replied.
