Wednesday season two is back, and fans are excited to see some familiar faces from the season one cast back again – even if their dynamics have shifted slightly.
Warning: this article contains spoilers for Wednesday season two part one.
After three long years away, Jenna Ortega’s take on everyone’s favourite horror heroine Wednesday Addams returned to Netflix for season two yesterday (6 August).
It was worth the wait too, with both fans and critics describing it as “wildly entertaining” and the “best” the show has been.
Excitement for Wednesday season two was bolstered by the arrival of new faces in the cast, including Doctor Who’s Billie Piper as Isadora Capri, Motherland’s Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Addams, Boardwalk Empire’s Steve Buscemi as principal Barry Dot, and lesbian The Princess Diaries star Heather Matarazzo as Judi.

Yet fans were equally as excited to see the return of those in the original season one cast, including the rest of the Addams family and, of course, Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers).
Enid and Wednesday first became roommates at Nevermore Academy, before begrudgingly – on Wednesday’s part, at least – becoming friends.
Yet season two sees the unlikely yet adored duo face difficulties in their friendship, especially as Wednesday has seen into Enid’s future, and determined that she’s pretty much doomed.
Wednesday hasn’t told Enid about her vision, but is certainly leaving her out in the cold because of it. Plus, with the arrival in the Wednesday season two cast of Evie Templeton as Agnes deMille, Wednesday’s stalker-turned-sort-of-crony, Enid is feeling the distance.

Speaking to Deadline, Myers unpacked on the “tension” between Enid and Wednesday in season two, and reflected on the pair’s bond.
“I think Enid is feeling replaced because Agnes has stepped in and, of course, wants to impress Wednesday and is threatening Enid all the time. So Enid feels a bit insecure in their friendship and doesn’t know why Wednesday’s pushing her out,” Myers reasoned.
“Of course, little does she know, [it’s] because of this premonition that Wednesday’s had. It’s definitely an interesting dynamic and journey to explore in this new season, because we haven’t seen them like this before.”
Myers went on to say that the polar-opposite pair still have an “unspoken understanding” of each other, despite their unity fracturing in season two.
“When Enid sees that Wednesday’s pushing her out, she doesn’t realize why, because she thinks they got past that last season. There’s this little push and pull that both of them have, and it’s very confusing for her,” she said.
Whether Wednesday’s premonition about Enid’s fate comes to pass is yet to be seen, with part two of Wednesday season two set to drop on Netflix on 3 September.
