American singer-songwriter Conan Gray has dropped his fourth studio album Wishbone, which features a sweet ode to queer love on the lyrics of new song “My World”.
The former YouTuber and “Heather” singer confirmed the August release date of Wishbone back in May, with the announcement coming as a surprise for fans, considering his third album Found Heaven only dropped last year.
Wishbone was preceded by several singles including “This Song” and “Vodka Cranberry”, which told a tumultuous gay love story through their accompanying music videos.
The videos followed Gray and My Life with the Walter Boys star Corey Fogelmanis as Wilson and Brando, two boys who fall in and out of love over the course of one summer.
As Wishbone dropped, Gray released the third part of the queer romance story as the music video for “Caramel”.
While the third installment of the music video series has left many of his fans dewy-eyed, there’s another song on the record that has also caught their attention.

Track five of the album, “My World”, sees the singer-songwriter reflect and ruminate on the end of his own rocky relationship with an ex.
“Telling me we’re just a summer fling, but it’s true / I found approval as a remedy / Every f**king person I would have to please / Maybe I got that from you,” Conan Gray purrs on the lyrics of verse one, over bright strings and dramatic drum thuds.
As the chorus soars into ethereal territory, Gray belts: “But why? / It’s my world and it’s my life / It’s my girl and it’s my guy / I’ll kiss ’em if I might like.”
Online, Gray’s fans have dubbed the song a “bisexual anthem”.
“Everyone thank Conan Gray for making ‘My World’, THE BISEXUAL ANTHEM THAT YOU AREEEEEE,” wrote one.
“‘My World’, my new bisexual anthem,” a second agreed.
A third hollered: “Adding my world to my list of bisexual anthems.”
Gray himself hasn’t said much about “My World”, other than describing it in an interview with Teen Vogue as “a walkout song”.
“It’s a song about owning your life, I guess.”
In an interview between Olivia Rodrigo and Gray, the “Vampire” singer declared “My World” as her favourite song from Wishbone.
Wishbone was produced in part by Daniel Nigro, best known for his work with Rodrigo and Chappell Roan.
Wishbone is out now.
