Rupaul’s Drag Race UK star Bimini Bon-Boulash has reflected on their “gutting” end to their Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins journey.

Last month, the non-binary Drag Race favourite, who uses they/them pronouns, was announced to be joining the lineup for the Channel 4 military-style reality series

Bimini became one of four queer contestants on this year’s series, which sees 14 stars in total undergoing gruelling training challenges which mimic those used on actual UK Special Forces selection courses.

Set in Wales, the home of the first phase of SAS selection, instructors Billy Billingham, Jason Fox, Rudy Reyes and Chris Oliver put the contestants through their paces. However, just five made it through to the final on Monday (25 August) after navigating intense challenges.

Despite making it to the final five alongside out lesbian singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan, former Love Island star Adam Collard, former professional football player Troy Deeney, and one of the “Peru Two” drug mules, Michaella McCollum, both Bimini and Collard missed out on a metaphorical Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins trophy.

Bimini took to X after the series end to tell fans that, despite the disappointing outcome, they upheld their values throughout.

“I was gutted to miss out RIGHT at the end but I’m happy with everything I achieved on the show, I stuck to my morals and I can proudly say that… I DID smash it! #SASWhoDaresWins,” the star wrote online.

The trans rights advocate narrowly missed out on the special selection process in the last round, as they failed the challenge’s interrogation process.

Before the interrogation, the remaining contestants were given a cover story to present to the interrogators. Although Bimini did stick to the story, they were forced to witness McCollum being punished in a pit over discrepancies in their stories.

Bimini was told to pour cold water over their fellow recruit until McCollum told the truth, but they did not wish to inflict discomfort on McCollum. In the end, Bimini admitted they were there with the British Military.

The directing staff said as they looked on via a camera: “That’s an epic fail for No.1.”

“No.1, it is with regret, I’m informing you that you’ve been unsuccessful in this phase of the course. In my professional opinion, you tried to protect somebody from unpleasant conduct rather than any threat of any physical danger,” it was announced.

Billingham then announced at the end of the finale that Spraggan, McCollum and Deeney had passed the course and were the winners of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins 2025.

Spraggan said: “I couldn’t believe it, to pass, wow, incredible. I felt so emotional. It was about 9 million times worse than I thought it was going to be, and I thought it was going to be bad. I really did! It’s utterly traumatising, but unbelievably rewarding. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing because I will never do that again!”
