With just a week to go, fans have been treated to a behind the scenes look at Wednesday season two, part two.

(Warning: Spoilers for Wednesday season two follow).

The first half of Wednesday season two dropped earlier this month and saw Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) return to Nevermore where a new mystery unraveled. A new enemy emerged using birds to carry out vicious murders, which was eventually revealed to be Judi (played by lesbian actress, Heather Matarazzo).

The series ended with Wednesday and Uncle Fester (Fred Armisen) seemingly foiling Judi’s plan but at the same time releasing all the inmates of the Willow Hill Psychiatric Facility, including Tyler/Hyde (gay star Hunter Doohan). Hyde, seeking revenge against Wednesday, seemingly launched her out of a window, knocking her out.

In the newly released promo for the next four episodes, the cast tease what fans expect. “We’re all very excited for everyone to see what happens,” says Ortega who describes the many storylines as “chaos.”

Showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar tease anyone could be a suspect in the window-pushing incident, while director Tim Burton likens the series to a “jazz riff” where everything makes sense at the end.

Referencing the end of the episode four, Ortega says “it’s probably the darkest that we’ve ever left an episode,” as Gough promises “the mysteries of Willow Hill definite carry over into the back half of the season”.

We then see the return of Gwendoline Christie’s Larissa Weems, the previous Nevermore head who died in season one. “I’m your new spirit guide,” Weems explains to Wednesday in a clip. Speaking of her return Christie says the season explores “a fascinating relationship” between Weems and Wednesday.

More broadly “everything is bigger” Christie teases as we see large scale set pieces. “Fans can look forward to more,” she adds while Ortega says, “we just really want to deliver”.

A trailer for the next four episodes also dropped recently. It shows Wednesday reuniting with Enid (Emma Myers), who Tyler/Hyde also wants revenge on after last season.

“If you don’t hurry, you’ll have nothing left to save,” warns Weems towards the end. After that, we get our first taste of Lady Gaga in the series. She also warns: “Beware, there will be a price to pay.”

All we know is Lady Gaga will star as Rosaline Rotwood, “a legendary Nevermore teacher who crosses paths with Wednesday.”

Wednesday season two, part one is streaming now. Part two is available on Wednesday 3 September.
