Fans of Netflix’s Wednesday have finally been treated to a first look at Mother Monster – Lady Gaga – as the mysterious Rosaline Rotwood in the second season’s second half.

It’s a good day for everyone with a penchant for the moodiest day of the week, because the sneak peeks at the second half of Wednesday keep coming thicker and faster than Cousin Itt’s hair.

The dark comedy, which features Jenna Ortega as the morbid Addams Family daughter, returned to Nevermore Academy in early August – but with only the first instalment of episodes.

Wednesday, season two, part two, is releasing tomorrow (3 September), and there’s one very special ghoul joining the already stacked ranks of the A-list cast, which includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Billie Piper, gay star Hunter Doohan, Joanna Lumley and more.

That’s right, Lady Gaga (yes, the Lady Gaga) will be portraying Rosaline Rotwood, in the season’s latter half. A first look from the official Netflix social media accounts has given fans a sneak peek.

“A vision in venom. Here’s your first look at Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood,” it wrote.

We don’t currently know that much else about the character of Rosaline Rotwood (i.e Lady Gaga), but the character poster shows Mother Monster looking quite comfortable with Thing on her shoulder – could she be a distant Addams Family member?

The only concrete information we have is that Rosaline will be a “legendary” teacher at Nevermore Academy, but that never meant that she’s guaranteed to be on Wednesday’s side…

It’s also possible that Rosaline isn’t exactly, how shall we put this… alive? Given that she hasn’t been season for the first season and a half, and the colour palette is giving ghostly white, it remains to be seen just how much Rosaline belongs in our world.

And in typical Lady Gaga fashion, she’s also treating us to a new song, “The Dead Dance“, to coincide with Wednesday‘s season 2.5 release.

A sneak peek at the next instalment of the Tim Burton-directed series teased that “everything is bigger”.

Wednesday season two, part one is streaming now. Part two is available on Wednesday 3 September.
