Dylan O’Brien has touched on one of the intimate same-sex moments in his latest film Twinless.

In the film, written and directed by James Sweeney, O’Brien plays Roman, a straight man who has recently lost his gay twin brother, Rocky.

He meets Dennis, played by Sweeney, at a support group for bereaved twins.

Teen Wolf favourite O’Brien told Entertainment Weekly about one scene set in a hotel room where Dennis gives Roman a foot rub before then sucking on his toes.

Prior to the scene, O’Brien, not wanting to make it any more awkward than it already felt, made sure his foot tasted as good as possible. “We were shooting in a real hotel,” he said“So, there was a tub, and I went in and scrubbed away.”

The scene takes a dark turn when Dennis reveals his big secrets: he’s not a twin, he had hooked up with Rocky, and he was there the night Roman’s twin died.

Roman doesn’t react well to the revelation and attacks Dennis.

Sweeney has recently addressed the leaking of a sex scene between himself and O’Brien in the film.

He admitted losing sleep over it, telling Them: “On one hand… all press is good press, and you hope [the online discussion] garners goodwill and awareness of the project, and that it incentivises people to show up and see the film, especially for all those perverts.”

However, he criticised audiences’ seeming “entitlement” for things to be “immediately available to them,” and for exploiting the film. “It is an invasion of my privacy and of my bodily autonomy,” the star said. “Obviously, I made the film and the scene is in there. It’s going to exist. But it’s supposed to be presented in a specific context.”

There is no release date for Twinless yet although it will screen at the BFI London Film Festival and the rights have been sold to Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions.
