Keira Knightley and Kit Harington are among the stars joining the audiobook series, Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions.

They will join the already announced cast that includes Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore and Matthew Macfadyen as Lord Voldemort.

Knightley and Harington will be voicing Professor Umbridge and Professor Lockhart respectively. On Wednesday (10 September) Pottermore Publishing and Audible also announced that Iwan Rheon will voice Professor Lupin, Ruth Wilson will portray Bellatrix Lestrange, and Ambika Mod will take on Nymphadora Tonks.

Mod’s One Day co-star Leo Woodall will play Bill Weasley while Simon Pegg will voice Arthur Weasley. Meanwhile, James McAvoy will lend his voice to Mad-Eye Moody. Gemma Whelan has been cast as Professor Sprout and Matt Berry has also joined as Hogwarts portrait Sir Cadogan. More cast members are due to be announced later this year.

It has already been announced that Cush Jumbo will narrate the series. Riz Ahmed is Professor Snape, Michelle Gomez is playing Professor McGonagall, Mark Addy is Hagrid, Alex Hassell is voicing Lucius Malfoy, Daniel Mays is to voice Dobby, and Sara and Avni Deshmukh will play the Patil Twins.

Last month, Gomez responded to the backlash her casting announcement prompted. Addressing her LGBTQ+ and trans fans she said she understood the hurt felt at her being cast in a project connected to JK Rowling. The author has faced a great deal of controversy over the last five years for her outspoken, ‘gender-critical’ views about transgender people.

“I hear you, and I understand why this is painful for many,” Gomez said on Instagram. “I want to be clear that I stand with trans people, and I support trans rights – fully and without hesitation.”

Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester, and Arabella Stanton will voice Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger for the first three audiobooks. Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis will then takeover for the rest of the series.

The first audiobook, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone will be available on Audible on 4 November. The Chamber of Secrets will follow on 16 December. The Prisoner of Azkaban will be released on 13 January 2026 with The Goblet of Fire on 10 February 2026.
