RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has announced an additional line-up of six celebrity guests for season seven, including a Welsh music hero and two soap legends.

Drag Race UK is back, with season seven strutting onto screens from Thursday 25 September. While the upcoming season is set to feature a plethora of celebrity guests on the judging panel alongside RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr, the official Drag Race UK social media pages have now revealed six more stars that will be making an appearance.

The star-studded list of confirmed guest judges includes Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle, Sugababes’ Mutya Buena, The Masked Singer host Joel Dommett, Derry Girls star Jamie-Lee O’Donnell, Chewing Gum actor Susan Wokoma, and Spent star Michelle de Swarte.

Jane Horrocks, Mazz Murray, and Sophie Willan will also feature.

In a post on X on 11 September, the official Drag Race UK account shared a photo of six more “celebrity huns” standing in the Werk Room, seemingly facing this year’s cohort of competitors. Each star had their face shielded by a draggy emoji.

“Ru-lease the Huns! We’ve got a camp line-up of celebrity huns ready for their #DragRaceUK debut, but can you guess who?” the post read.

Online, fans of RuPaul’s empire swiftly predicted who the hidden stars are, with many of the guesses being correct.

On 12 September, Drag Race UK confirmed that singer, activist, wellness retreat owner and LGBTQ+ ally Charlotte Church would be heading to the stage as part of season seven, alongside Celebrity Big Brother winner David Potts.

Tracy Beaker actress and major Drag Race fan Dani Harmer, Pop Idol winner Michelle McManus, Coronation Street actress Shobna Gulati, who came out as non-binary earlier this year, and EastEnders actress, Diane Parish will also make an appearance.

It’s yet to be confirmed what the additional stars will be doing during season seven, but fans of the drag reality series are theorising that the six are in the Werk Room as part of the signature makeover challenge.

The challenge sees the final five or six competing queens being tasked with putting a non drag queen into hair, heels and high-camp garbs.

Previous makeover challenges have seen the queens having to dress up their family members, the show’s crew, and charity volunteers but, if the six stars are in the Werk Room for the makeover, it will mark the first time additional celebrities have been drafted onto the show specifically for the challenge.

“Charlotte Church on Drag Race I am P***ING omg mother,” wrote one slightly too excited fan.

“Nahh Nahh Nahh you actually don’t understand. IM OBSESSED WITH THIS SEASON ALREADY,” yelled a second.

A third screamed: “OH MY GOD I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS!”

Season seven will feature a new collection of queens vying for the title of the UK’s Next Drag Superstar, with Catrin Feelings, Tayris Mongardi, Sally TM, Silllexa Diction, Pasty, Nyongbella, Paige Three, Elle Vosque, Viola, Chai T Grande, Bonnie Ann Clyde, and Bones announced as this year’s cohort.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season seven begins on BBC iPlayer on 25 September.
