Democratic congresswoman Jasmine Crockett reads FBI director Kash Patel to filth in epic exchange

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett has absolutely eviscerated FBI director Kash Patel in an epic exchange during yesterday’s House Judiciary Committee hearing (17 September).

The unapologetic activist, who has represented Texas’s 30th congressional district since 2023, hit out at the FBI director in a no-holds-barred address during a House judiciary committee hearing. 

Patel has faced backlash after falsely claiming the FBI caught the person responsible for Charlie Kirk’s shooting. He has also faced criticism over his handling of the Epstein files.

Jasmine Crockett began by laying out “a few facts”; accusing US president Donald Trump of appointing people she said were under-qualified to “very important positions.”

“I did have to make sure that I’m not going crazy,” she said. “But when I say that you are the least qualified FBI director in the history of the FBI, that is real, because you’re the one who never even served with the FBI prior to joining. Yet we’re supposed to believe that…”

Kash Patel interrupted, saying, “That’s false.” But Crockett pressed on, adding, “…you’re the greatest thing since sliced bread. I didn’t ask you a question”. 

She went on to explain why she believed Patel was a “failure” and “why, honestly, we just need to tell you ‘bye-bye.’”

Crockett: You are the least qualified FBI Director in history.

Patel: That's false.

Crockett: I didn't ask.

Patel became the ninth director of the FBI on 20 February, 2025. Prior to his appointment he served as chief of staff to the Department of Defense. He is a staunch Trump supporter and during Trump’s first administration he led his counterterrorism mission as deputy assistant to the president on the National Security Council. 

It isn’t the first time Crockett has called out authority. In May, she roasted Republicans by playing a game she called “Trump or Trans” during a chaotic trans athlete hearing.

“So I’m gonna ask you a few questions and I want you to tell me who was responsible [between US president Donald Trump or trans people], understand? Okay,” she said.

She then asked who was behind a series of issues across the US, including “gutting medical research,” “kidnapping Americans and sending them to foreign countries, AKA, deporting,” “driving us into a recession,” “increasing the cost of everything,” and “waging an idiotic terror war.” The answer, each time, was “Trump.”

Crockett has frequently spoken out against Trump’s controversial decisions and has previously warned that, under his second term and the laws implemented so far, democracy is “hanging by a thread.”
