Ahead of the launch of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season seven, Bonnie Ann Clyde has teased life in the “pressure cooker situation” of the show.
Drag Race UK returns to our screens on Thursday (25 September) and will see 12 queens compete to be crowned the UK’s Next Drag Superstar. They are Catrin Feelings, Tayris Mongardi, Sally TM, Silllexa Diction, Pasty, Nyongbella, Paige Three, Elle Vosque, Viola, Chai T Grande, Bonnie Ann Clyde, and Bones.
Speaking to PinkNews ahead of the season seven launch, Bonnie Ann Clyde shared which of her fellow queens she was most surprised by in the competition.

“I actually work with Viola in Manchester a lot so I had a general idea what she was like to work with in a cabaret setting,” she started. “And then when she got on the show, it was a whole another level of what it was like to work with Viola in a pressure cooker situation.” Is that a hint at some drama we can detect?
“I won’t say too much,” Clyde went on to say, remaining tight-lipped. “But it was very interesting to watch.” Consider our interest piqued!
Chai T Grande said she knew Paige before they entered the Werkroom having met “a handful of times” working around London. However, she was also surprised by what she found out about the “incredibly polished” and “powerful” Paige.

“Marrying that [preconception] to the complete goofball that she was, within seconds I was like, ‘Oh, I like you. You’re great’,” Grande shared. “She’s such a camp fireball of energy,” she added.
Bones (she/they) said she and Silllexa had become friends during the Covid-19 lockdowns but had known each other for more than seven years before that. “From a young age she’s been known as a trailblazer, so she really surprised me. She’s so ingenious and so happy to help people out. She’s always there for people around her,” Bones told PinkNews. It sounds like we’ll be getting some sisterly love and support to balance out the drama.
Returning to preside over proceedings will be Mama Ru herself. Joining her to judge the queens on their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent, are Michelle Visage, Alan Carr as well as Graham Norton. Earlier this month the BBC revealed the celebrities joining Mama Ru and co on the judges’ panel. Among them are Nadine Coyle and also the Sugababes’s Mutya Buena.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK season seven starts at 9pm on BBC Three and the BBC iPlayer on Thursday 25 September. All other episodes are currently streaming on BBC iPlayer.
