County music legend Dolly Parton has postponed her upcoming Las Vegas residency due to “health challenges”.
The “Jolene” hitmaker and LGBTQ+ ally shared the news in a lengthy statement on her social media accounts last night (28 September), writing that she needed to have “a few procedures” and would not have time to get the show ready ahead of its 4 December open date.
In her post, the 79-year-old made it clear that she will need “a little time to get the show ready” after her procedures, and confirmed that the string of six shows will now take place in September 2026.
Parton did not inform fans on the nature of her health issues, but she appeared keen to get ahead of any rumours about the future of her career, writing: “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures,” she wrote.

She joked that the procedures won’t be “the usual trip to see [her] plastic surgeon”.
“In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see,” she continued.
“You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say.
“And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so l can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
Dolly Parton had announced the residency, entitled Dolly: Live in Las Vegas, back in June.
Earlier this month, fans voiced their concern for the “9 To 5” singer after she was forced to pull out of a planned appearance at her Tennessee amusement park Dollywood due to a kidney stone that has caused her “a lot of problems”.
In a video which played to attendees at the event on 17 September, Parton explained: “Turned out it’d given me an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be travelling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better.’”
In March, Carl Dean, Dolly Parton’s husband of nearly 60 years, died after being “ill for quite a while”.
