Trans Big Brother star Zelah has opened up about his gender identity on the show, including his “toxic masculinity phase.”
Fans declared the trans personal trainer from South London their early “winner” after the show’s launch on Sunday (28 September). Zelah, 25, won viewers over with his comparison to a spaniel dog as well as his good looks.
In tonight’s (Tuesday 30 September) episode Zelah chats to Sam about his journey with gender identity. The conversation starts off by Sam asking if Zelah always knew he was a man “deep down.”

Zelah then explains, “When I was six years old, if you looked at me then and look at me now, you’d think I went from A to B. I looked like a little version of me now. I had the skin fade and everything, I was still bullied for being a man in school. Like there’s always something…”
Sam, a queer Zumba instructor from Chipton, then says, “Yeah, you always knew that there was something there deep down.”
Zelah continues: “And then I realised I was queer around 15, things started to get better because I started to be a bit more masculine, went through my toxic masculinity phase, got a motorbike and my tattoos…”
After arriving in the Big Brother house on Sunday, Zaleh had said that he didn’t want to touch on his transition so early, but recognised it would come up. Speaking in the Diary Room on Monday (29 September) he said, “I’m making a conscious decision to just not bring it up for a bit.”

On Big Brother 2025, Zelah and Sam are joined by ten other housemates, including the pansexual Scottish gamer, Nancy and bisexual Dua Lipa fan and Pizza Hut manager, Gani.
They’re in the House with Somerset farmer Cameron, five-times engaged 56-year-old Caroline, Elsa (who can see dead people) and Conservative party member Emily, who has been for Christmas at Boris Johnson’s house.
Teja, from Bristol, Royal Navy alum Marcus and self-confessed rule-breaker Jenny join the above, alongside the mercifully bum-out Butler in the Buff/ engineer Tate.
But all of that is about with the addition of four new housemates – Cameron B, George, Feyisola and Richard – tonight!
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
