La Voix has shown Strictly Come Dancing viewers what they were meant to see during Saturday (27 September) night’s show had it not been for a technical malfunction.

The RuPaul’s Drag Race UK star is appearing in the latest season of then long-running BBC competition. She has been partnered with Aljaž Škorjanec.

In Saturday’s live show, the pair performed an American Smooth to Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club.” The number saw La Voix start atop a cute pink pony on a pole.

It wasn’t until after the dance had finished that host Tess Daly explained the horse was meant to have descended with La Voix on it from a greater height.

La Voix took to Instagram on Sunday (28 September) to show a clip from the dress rehearsal. It showed the horse working fine and La Voix gracefully descending to the stage as the song started.

“What you were meant to see! Damn pony fail!” she posted. Despite this, the Drag Race UK star was awash with praise in the comments.

And the pair did well on the night, scoring 24 out of 40 to put them in joint fifth on the scoreboard alongside George Clarke and Alexis Warr. No one went home at the end of week, one meaning all 15 couples have advanced to week two.

La Voix, who told PinkNews prior to the show’s start that she’s making history with her Strictly run, is joined on the show by the likes of EastEnders star Balvinder SopalLove Island winner Dani Dyer, and Doctor Who‘s Alex Kingston.

Also in the cast for this season is Thomas Skinner. He has already been the subject of controversy for his support of President Donald Trump and JD Vance.

However, bookies have named Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope as the frontrunner for this year.
