A Trans Paranormal Park voice actor has spoken out following recent backlash from Elon Musk and extreme-right-wing X account Libs of TikTok, saying his animated character has “saved lives”.

X boss Elon Musk took to X to announce that he had cancelled his Netflix account after Libs of TikTok criticised the trans-inclusive show, which was cancelled more than two years ago, as well as comments made by its queer creator.

Hamish Steele‘s Netflix animation Dead End: Paranormal Park faced backlash for having trans representation, with infamous gender-critical X account Gays Against Groomers also sharing video clips from the show, claiming it “pushes trans ideology”.

Voice actor for protagonist Barney, Zach Barack, has now spoken out, sharing that his character has “saved lives”.

In the series, Barney Guttman is a gay, trans teen boy who finds a new job as a security guard of Phoenix Parks, an amusement park with a haunted house.

‘Kids and parents have told me it saved their lives!!’

Barack shared on X that he, like his the character he voices, is trans and has been out for 10 years.

The post added: “I’m happier than i’ve ever been & if someone had shown me this television program as a kid it would’ve saved me years of hating myself! You can fear monger all you want, but kids & parents have told me it saved their lives!!”

Barack’s post responded to a Libs of TikTok tweet, which claimed the show is pushing “pro-transgender on children”. “Parents – BEWARE,” the post added.

Comments under the voice actor’s response confirmed that he has, indeed, saved lives.
