A fan has issued an apology to “Karma” singer JoJo Siwa after reportedly being kicked out of her recent concert in Glasgow for wearing a hoodie featuring an unflattering photo of her.
On 2 October, footage emerged on social media appearing to show former Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa asking someone in the crowd to leave for wearing “a hoodie making fun of [her]”.
The incident occurred on 1 October at the SWG3 TV Studio in Glasgow, where Siwa, 22, was performing as part of her Infinity Heart tour. “Thank you for coming, I appreciate it, but we only got room for infinity hearts in here, right?” Siwa said after gesturing for someone in the audience to leave. “Not in my house, baby,” she added.
According to other attendees at the concert, the fan in question wore a top emblazoned with an internet meme, which features Siwa’s face and her signature Dance Moms-era ponytail photoshopped onto an image of an egg.
The meme appears to be mocking the singer’s hairline.
Over the weekend, a fan claiming to be the person Siwa had removed from the concert posted an explanation video on TikTok, offering a “genuine” apology to Siwa.
The fan, posting under the username @friendly_musician, explained that they wore the hoodie as they though Siwa would “laugh” at it.
“Me and my friend, we didn’t have any merch so we were like, ‘Oh what are we going to wear?’ and we were like, ‘Oh, let’s just print out a picture and stick it on our clothes and it will be funny and JoJo has a good sense of humour so she’ll laugh as well.’”
The fans searched “funny JoJo Siwa picture” and used one of the first images to appear on Google. They did not research the meme or understand why it might “trigger” her.
Siwa has previously opened up about her insecurity around her hairline, revealing in a TikTok post in July that it was “the number one thing” she was bullied for as a child.
In 2022, she revealed that she had a bald spot which had been caused by “a stress rash” on Dance Moms.
Approximately 45 minutes into her Glasgow gig, the fan claimed that Siwa asked what outfits attendees were wearing, and the duo held their hoodie in the air.
“We were like, ‘This is our opportunity to make her laugh’. So we held up what it was and she was like, ‘Can you hand it over,’ so we did,” the fan said.
“We were like, ‘Oh my God, she’s going to laugh and find it really funny.’ She didn’t find it funny. She kicked us out then people started posting videos about it and saying we threw it at her, when we didn’t throw it, we handed it over through security.”

The concert attendee shared that they felt they were “about to have a panic attack” after the incident as they had “never been kicked out of a concert before”.
“All the others shows that I’ve been to, they find stuff like that really funny. It’s a common thing for people to bring a funny picture,” they said, adding: “It wasn’t very fun.”
The video explanation has been viewed nearly three million times on TikTok.
In its caption, the concert goer offered an apology to Siwa, insisting that there was no “malicious intent” behind wearing the meme.
“Me and my best friend were really looking forward to seeing JoJo originally as a joke but then she started really growing on us and I was genuinely really looking forward to seeing her since she seems pretty cool,” they wrote.
“None of it was with malicious intent… This apology is completely genuine, if it doesn’t seem like it is l’m autistic and I usually seem really bored or laughing when trying to do something important.”
Siwa’s Infinity Heart tour continues in Birmingham on 8 October before heading over to Europe until 15 October.
