Scissor Sisters pop prince Jake Shears has spilled on his role in kinky gay biker romance Pillion as a ‘sub bottom boy’ – and confessed that he’s ‘pretty sexually adventurous’.

Starring Alexander Skarsgård as dominant leather biker daddy Ray who takes on Harry Potter alum Harry Melling as his submissive, Pillion is the upcoming kinky gay romance that’s got everyone on edge.

The film, which will feature a full-frontal from Skarsgård, features a wider cast including stars such as Scissor Sisters pop star Jake Shears.

Speaking to attitude at the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards, Shears has dished on his character – and it sounds as kinky as the rest of the film, which explores the world of sub/ dom BDSM culture.

“I play like a sub bottom boy who’s in a long-term relationship. I’m sort of in the scene that the movie takes place in, and I’ve been around for a lot longer than Harry Leyton’s character. So there’s a little bit of rivalry, a little bit of jealousy,” Shears told the publication.

Spilling further about his on-set experience, Shears added: “I think I’ve always been pretty sexually adventurous. It was such a wicked experience though. I had a really good time.”

As such, he added: “The sex stuff was fine. The sex was like whatever – but awesome.”

Both trailers for Pillion tease an intense relationship between Ray and Colin, with semi-nude wrestling, head shaving and complicated emotions.

The Pillion crew has also revealed that the crew shot “way more graphic” sex scenes than ended up in the film’s final cut – which is saying something.

Intimacy coordinator Robbie Taylor Hunt praised director Harry Lighton’s handling of the show’s sex scenes, saying: “He embraced the awkwardness of it. All these characters were fully fledged and the sex scenes weren’t graphic for the sake of being graphic. We shot way more graphic stuff than you’ve seen just now,” he said.

“Harry did a beautiful job of calibrating it. You don’t shy away from it because ‘Oh, we can’t show men having sex,’ but you also don’t show a closeup of a dick just because you can, for the shock value.”

Pillion premiered at Cannes Film Festival in May this year, where Skarsgård smooched Pedro Pascal during a seven-minute standing ovation, and the film received positive reviews.

Pillion will be in cinemas from 28 November and will screen at London Film Festival this month.
