The US Department of Homeland Security has responded after Chappell Roan declared “f**k ICE forever”.

Appearing at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena, California, last week, the “Pink Pony Club” singer voiced her opposition to raids being carried out by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agents.

Roan, who has said “bringing queer people joy” was the reason she still loved performing live, began by thanking “the city that took care of me”, Los Angeles. “And it’s only my duty to take care of it,” she added. “F**k ICE forever.” She shook her head sadly before repeating the final three words.

Homeland Security assistant secretary for public affairs Tricia McLaughlin responded by telling TMZ: “Pink Pony Club is good, paedophiles are bad. That’s who we’re getting off of our streets. Get a grip.”

Figures from the Cato Institute, released in June, show that 65 per cent of people detained by immigration agents between 1 October last year and mid-June 2025 had never committed a crime.

Kristi Noem, the secretary of Homeland Security, has also been a target of fun for South Park, along with Ice’s recruitment campaign.

According to The Guardian, Noem responded to being mocked by the animated show by saying: “It’s so lazy to just constantly make fun of women for how they look. If they wanted to criticise my job, go ahead and do that. But clearly they can’t, they just pick something petty like that.”

The show has also had Donald Trump in its sights, depicting him having an affair with the devil.
