Big Brother star Tommy Bracco has shared a big health update regarding a tumour in his spine he has been living with for several years.
Bracco, a Broadway performer who appeared on Big Brother in 2019 in the United States, posted on Instagram on Tuesday (21 October) to share that he’d been “granted a miracle.”
“For years I’ve known I had a tumor in my spine that would eventually have to come out. I waited for the right time, I saw MANY doctors who all gave very different plans (the first doctor told me I’m lucky if I dance again – which we know now, is not true),” he said.
“It has been a long road, I’m not out of the woods yet but I’m gonna be okay,” Bracco continued in the emotional post. “Literally crying tears as I type this.
“That tumor danced with me on Broadway, got married with me, we traveled the world, went on my honeymoon and even competed on a tv show. And now it’s given me the greatest gift and that’s my family. There is no feeling like seeing your army show up for you when you need them,” he went on to say.
The 35-year-old declared himself “the richest man in the world because of my husband, parents, brother, family and friends,” before thanking his healthcare team.
He closed the post by writing: “Of course I was scared but I kept reminding myself all along that Gods got me, what was meant for me would be, and that I could handle anything brought my way. I’m just so glad this was what was on the other side. Now, it’s time to rest up for a bit and then I’ll be back to dancing in no time.”
Bracco placed fifth in Big Brother season 21 in 2019. Onstage he is known for his roles in Newsies as well as Pretty Woman: The Musical.
He married his partner, Joey Macli, earlier this year.
