Trailer for Downton Abbey spoof Fackham Hall goes viral: ‘Comedies might actually be back for real’

A trailer for Fackham Hall, an upcoming film that blends the world of Downton Abbey with the comedy of Airplane! and Naked Gun, has gone viral.

The spoof comedy stars Damian Lewis, Ben Radcliffe, Thomasin McKenzie, Katherine Waterston, and Tom Felton among others.

A synopsis for the film reads, “Fackham Hall follows lovable pick-pocket Eric Noone as he lands a job at a unique English manor house. He quickly rises through the ranks, and a forbidden romance with lady-of-the-house Rose Davenport blossoms.

“But when an unexpected murder occurs, Eric gets framed – leaving Rose and her family’s future perilously uncertain.”

The trailers – both green band and the more explicit red band trailer – have gone viral in the last 24 hours with people falling over themselves with laughter in the comments. One response, which has been retweeted over a thousand times, simply says: “Comedies might actually be back for real.”


Who’s in the Fackham Hall cast?

The cast for Fackham Hall is fairly well stacked. Ben Radcliffe stars as the protagonist, Eric. The Davenport family are led by Damian Lewis as Lord Davenport with Katherine Waterston joining him as Lady Davenport. Thomasin McKenzie, Lizzie Hopley, and Emma Laird are playing Rose, Phyllis, and Poppy Davenport respectively.

Harry Potter star Tom Felton joins as Archibald while Jimmy Carr, who also wrote the film alongside Patrick Carr, Andrew Dawson, Steve Dawson, and Tim Inman, stars as the Vicar.

Where can I watch Fackham Hall?

The film will be available to watch in US cinemas from 5 December 2025. No mention has been made yet about the film debuting on any steaming services.

Does Fackham Hall have a release date?

The film is due to be released in the US on 5 December 2025. Despite the film being set and filmed in the UK, however, there’s no UK release date at this time.
