Stranger Things actor Joe Keery, also known by his musician stage name Djo, is donating one dollar from each ticket sold to his current tour to support LGBTQ+ youth.

The 33-year-old musician has spent much of 2025 on his Another Bite Tour, in support of his third studio album The Crux, released in April this year.

In a video posted by The Ally Coalition on TikTok, it was confirmed that Keery would be donating to support the charity, which partners with musicians and music fans to fight against the discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ youth.

The Ally Coalition was founded by music producer Jack Antonoff and his older sister, fashion designer Rachel Antonoff, in 2013.

“We had the privilege of speaking with @Djo before his last show of tour at The Greek Theatre in LA. Djo donated $1 per ticket sold to TAC on his Another Bite Tour in support of LGBTQ+ youth,” the organisation wrote in the TikTok video caption.

“We’re so grateful to Djo and his entire team for their support, and congratulations on an incredible tour.”

In the clip, Keery shares his hope that the donation would go some way to help LGBTQ+ youth.

“I support The Ally Coalition, and I’m happy to be a part of it and bring awareness to a safe space for people to I guess just be themselves,” he said.

“The tour has been fantastic. This is the end of the tour, these last 20 some odd shows and it’s been a huge year filled with a lot of change and a lot of growth. It’s been a really special year for me. So hopefully the dollars help other people.”

A range of other artists, including Chappell Roan, MARINA, and Sabrina Carpenter have used their current tours to raise funds for LGBTQ+ people.

As Djo, Keery released his debut single “Roddy” in 2019. It was in 2024 that his music career reached new heights, after a section of his 2022 song “End of Beginning” became a viral TikTok soundbite used to soundtrack users’ travel videos and childhood nostalgia clips.

The song was nominated for Best International Song at the BRIT Awards earlier this year.

Keery’s acting breakout came when he was cast as Steve Harrington in Netflix’s monster sci-fi hit Stranger Things in 2016. The character started the series as the school jock and girlfriend to Nancy Wheeler (Natalia Dyer).

After the pair broke up in season two, they remained friends, and Steve became a babysitter figure for the teenage friend group at the centre of the show, which includes Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin), Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) and Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink).

The trailer for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things was released on 30 October, teasing the show’s hugely anticipated and high-budget conclusion.

The trailer shows demogorgons flooding the streets of Hawkins as soldiers attempt to fight them away, the protagonists all in perilous danger, and the return of a powered-up Vecna.

It’s the show’s first season in three years.
