Sydney Sweeney has been delivered another blow this week this time by LGBTQ+ icon, Bowen Yang, who’s answered who’s a better kisser, her or Ariana Grande?
The Wicked: For Good star took part in the Vanity Fair lie detector test with Grande as part of the promo tour for the Wicked sequel due out on 21 November.
During the test, which Grande took with Cynthia Erivo last year, the “Positions” singer asked Yang about a sketch the two did together on Saturday Night Live where they kissed.
You kissed me during an SNL sketch and then apologized afterwards for opening your mouth too much. Be honest, did you do that on purpose?” Grande asks.
At first Yang says he didn’t mean to but it’s ruled “inconclusive.” After which Yang says “it was in the heat of the moment.”
Grande then follows up by asking, “Do you think I was a good kisser?” Yang replies, “Yeah. You were really good.”
When offered a picture of Sydney Sweeney and asked if Grande was a better kiss Yang shared, “You were.” He then explained the skit in question had had to be shot quickly due to time restraints.
“I was like, ‘OK, we’re just gonna do it’,” said Yang. “And then we had an intimacy coordinator, lovely woman, who was like, ‘Keep the lips closed, no tongue’,” said Yang.
It’s not been a great time lately for Sweeney, whose most recent film, Christy, flopped at the US box office.
The film was released in 2,011 cinemas in the US last Friday (7 November) but grossed only $1.3 million (£998,000). According to Box Office Mojo, that puts it among the worst box-office openings on more than 2,000 screens.
There has also been a mixed critical reaction. The film currently has a 65% score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Sweeney, who plays legendary boxer Christy Martin in the film, has also been blasted by Ruby Rose over the film.

Part of Rose‘s indictment of Sweeney hinted at the controversy around the Anyone But You actress’ American Eagle jeans ad.
The tagline “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans,” has been interpreted as a play on ‘genes’ and having undertones of racism and eugenics.
Prior to Christy‘s release, Sweeney was interviewed by GQ where she was asked about the reaction to the American Eagle ad which she said “definitely was a surprise.”
Given a chance to address the controversy Sweeney flatly replied: “When I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear.”
