Donald Trump has snapped at a reporter after being asked a question about the Epstein files.

During a press conference on Air Force One last week, as he flew from Washington DC to his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, Trump was asked about the content of the files. According to People magazine, he replied: “I know nothing about that. They would have announced that a long time ago. Jeffrey Epstein and I had a very bad relationship for many years.”

An off-camera female reporter for Bloomberg then asked if there was anything “incriminating” in the emails. Trump responded by pointing a finger in her face and saying: “Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.”

The insult has drawn criticism, reignited claims that Trump was derogatory towards women. Former Miss Universe Alicia Machado claimed he once greeted her by saying: “Hello, Miss Piggy”.

The question came as calls continue to grow for the release of all the details about the evidence against convicted paedophile Jeffery Epstein who was found dead in his prison cell in August 2019.

On 12 November, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee released three new email correspondences from Epstein. In one exchange between Epstein and his colleague Ghislaine Maxwell, the financier called Trump “that dog that hasn’t barked” and claimed a victim spent “hours” with him.

“Of course, he knew about the girls,” he continued, referring to rumours that Epstein and Maxwell used Mar-a-Lago to scout potential trafficking victims.

Epstein’s brother Mark has said that a reference to “Bubba” in another email, in relation to an insinuation of Donald Trump performing oral sex, had nothing to do with Bill Clinton, who was known by that nickname.
