‘90s fitness icon Susan Powter, who once advised women on how to get men, has shared that she’s a “total lesbian” now.
The personal trainer, who rose to fame in the 1990s with her weight-loss infomercial featuring the catchphrase “Stop the Insanity!”, had a cameo on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air before declaring bankruptcy a year later in 1995.
She is now a driver for Uber Eats and recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the change in her circumstances.
The 67-year-old fitness icon, who lives in Las Vegas, shared that she is a “very isolated person”.
She added that she doesn’t date anymore and has “no interest in ever getting married again”, following past marriages to men ending in divorce.
‘I don’t think most women should meet a man’

But she revealed that she has come to understand her sexuality.
”Now I’m a huge lesbian. Total lesbian, great love affairs, many girlfriends, big fun,” Powter said, adding, ”Best fun ever!”
Despite enjoying her lesbian lovers, she is adamant that she doesn’t want to live with anyone. She added that her only socialisation is seeing her three sons: two born in 1983 and 1984, and the third whom she adopted in 1998.
Her preference to be alone even saw her decline initial invitations to film parts of her daily life for the documentary Stop the Insanity: Finding Susan Powter, produced by Jamie Lee Curtis, who described the project as “an indictment of how we discard human beings as they get older in this country”.
The documentary film sees Susan Powter discuss her sexuality and contemplate the loss of her $300 million fortune and a media brand that encompassed books, exercise videos, and, for a short time, her own talk show.
She tells the documentary crew upon finding a recording of her show, titled ”How to Meet a Man”: ”I’d like to see the segment, because I’d never do a segment like that. I’d never talk about that. I don’t care if you meet a man, and I don’t think most women should meet a man.”
Powter reiterates to Entertainment Weekly that she is now completely comfortable in her sexuality: “You want my opinion on it now? Lesbian, all the way!”
