Ariana Grande has revealed why she and her Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo like to “touch each other” so much.
The duo, who recently faced a “serial intruder” at the premiere of Wicked: For Good in Singapore, have become known for their friendly press interviews that often include a lot of touching.
Addressing why they like to “touch each other” so much while speaking to Amy Poehler on the Good Hand podcast, Grande said: “I channel a lot of energy through my hands. I’m always holding a hand. I’m always squeezing something. I’m always reaching for something.”
“It’s often who I’m with. I like to channel support, energy, or whatever,” she added.

Elsewhere in the interview, Grande discussed her career and how she imagined it looking going forward.
She said: “I am feeling a lot more connected to myself and my art since I started doing different things. I spent so much time only doing pop music, but I grew up as a girl who loved musical theatre and comedy.
“So, I think the thing that will be best for my soul, and also for my art, and for what I’m giving to myself, is if I’m using things that feel very right in the moment.”
Grande’s co-star Cynthia Erivo has been applauded for leaping to her defence during the scary incident in Singapore.
Johnson Wen, 26, was sentenced to nine days in prison on Monday (17 November) after pleading guilty to a charge of public nuisance. He had flown into Singapore from Australia on 11 November, the court heard.
Wen is known online as Pyjama Man. He frequently posts footage of himself performing public stunts, including during Katy Perry’s gig in Sydney and The Weeknd’s Melbourne concert. The social media personality told the judge that he wouldn’t do it again.
