National treasure Miriam Margolyes is an excellent teller of hilarious anecdotes, but her latest, about being naked in the snow, is one of her best.

The 84-year-old lesbian actress is set to appear on The Graham Norton Show on Friday (28 November), where she details this story. This upcoming appearance marks Margolyes’ 10th time on the show. It’s quite the achievement, but no surprise considering her quick wit and scathing one-liners.

Margolyes will be joined on the famous couch by All’s Fair’s Glenn Close, Pillion’s Alexander Skarsgard and Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan.

Singer Jessie J will also be on the sofa and performing a song at the end of the programme.

Her upcoming appearance sees Margolyes reveal that she was told off after running naked from a sauna into the snow at a health farm, the Independent reports.

“I once went to a health farm and had a sauna,” Margolyes’ story began. “Because it was snowing, I ran out of the sauna stark naked and started rolling around and rubbing the snow all over me.”

‘Told never to do it again!’

What sounds like a hilarious moment for Margolyes ended up with a reprimand. She then met with the establishment’s director: “I was taken to his office and told never to do it again!

Furthermore, on the show, she also admitted that the title of her new memoir, The Little Book of Miriam, wasn’t her choice.

“I wanted to call it all sorts of other things, but my publishers are respectable people, and they decided on that one,” she said.

Recently, Margolyes revealed that she was invited to be on The Celebrity Traitors, but turned the opportunity down.

“I can’t think of anything I’d rather less do… No, I’m not into that. I’ve never watched it, I don’t intend to watch it,” she said.

“There is some jolly good people doing it,” Margolyes continued. She praised the cast that includes Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns as Traitors.

The Graham Norton Show airs on BBC One and iPlayer on Friday, November 28, at 10:40pm.
