The Firefighter’s Christmas Wish is the hot new festive lesbian movie you need this December

It’s getting unexpectedly hot this festive season, as a new lesbian Christmas film about firefighters is on the horizon: The Firefighter’s Christmas Wish.

This is the latest addition to a growing genre of sapphic Christmas movies, and you can bet we’ll be watching when the Christmas TV movie drops ahead of Christmas. 

“When firefighter Dani Reed (Holly Deveaux) rescues a family just before Christmas, she reignites her late mother’s ‘Holiday Heroes’ fundraiser to help the community,” the film’s synopsis reads.

“With her ambitious sister Jackie (Natalie Lisinska), charming photographer Sasha (Kyana Teresa), and supportive dad by her side, Dani finds love, purpose, and the courage to step into true leadership.”

The film will chart the potential festive romance of Dani and Sasha. However, they must navigate their individual responsibilities while also nurturing their connection.

The Firefighter’s Christmas Wish was co-written by Meeshelle Neal and Nataline Rodrigues and directed by Mars Horodyski.

Following the film announcement, actor Teresa shared a post on Instagram, sharing her excitement for the movie.

“I had SO MUCH FUN filming this very special love story,” she wrote, also sharing her love for the cast and crew.

“It’s an absolute honour and privilege to be able to represent positive queer characters and stories especially during a time when we desperately need it most.”

She emphasised the need for these stories in a time when “queer media is being quietly removed from our screens.” Teresa called for people to “show up, be visible and remain resilient.”

“Let’s celebrate these wins together and keep more stories like this coming. This is for you. This is for me. This is for us!”

The Firefighter’s Christmas Wish will be available to stream on W Network in Canada on December 21st. Further release dates are scheduled soon.
