Marvel Rivals players have been reacting en masse to a candy-themed, tutu-wearing version of Spider-man villain Venom twerking his (generously proportioned) ass in an in-game celebration dance.
On 26 November, the official Marvel Rivals account posted on X to reveal a new skin for Venom, writing: “Revenge is best served sweet. Sweet dreams and sweet treats join forces on the battlefield with Venom’s Gummy Surprise and Blade’s Restful Recovery costumes.
“With these Anniversary styles, you’re sure to bring life to the party. Just don’t forget to bring the cake!” The game was released on December 6 2024, almost a year ago.
And judging by the viral footage, Gummy Surprise Venom definitely brought that cake. He’s caked up to the max, in fact, happily waggling his butt while sporting a pretty tutu, as well as plenty of other candy-themed accessories.
“DAMN VENOM GOT HELLA ASS,” tweeted one fan. Another chimed in: “DAMN BOI, HE’S THICC!!”
Another quote tweet, which has itself gone viral, reads: “Gay porn might unironically be straighter then whatever this is.”
A fourth fan casually replied: “Venom is an inherently horny character so idk why this is shocking,” Someone else was a bit less pro-twerk, writing: “I have some friends of mine that are down AF for Venom and I happy for them but I did not need to see that.”
Gaming publication Dextero have since shared the full MVP screen footage on Instagram, and it’s a delight from start to finish:
Last year, fans were also entranced by Venom’s similarly “caked up” winter event skin, as reported by Dextero.
“I love the promo pic that’s just Venom’s a** cheeks,” one player wrote at the time. Another user responded with the following comment, “They know what the fandom really wants.”
Someone else joked that Venom’s “now more caked up than a bakery,” and it seems Marvel Rivals devs took that to heart when they picked the “sweet treat” theme for his anniversary skin.
As one Instagram user put it: “😭Them developers love them some venom cake…”
