Heated Rivalry, the Canadian LGBTQ+ sports drama about two rival hockey players who engage in a steamy romance, has taken the world by storm.
If you’re on social media, particularly the queer bits, you’ll have more than likely seen actors Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, who play Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander respectively, on your feeds.
The two guys have remarkable chemistry, on and off screen, which has made them the fascination of many people online.

The series, based on Rachel Reid’s Game Changer novel series, debuted in Canada and the US on Friday 28 November.
In Canada, Heated Rivalry is available on Crave. Meanwhile, American viewers can watch on HBO Max with new episodes out on Fridays. HBO Max is also distributing the series in Australia.
Sadly, for UK viewers, there is no current information on when it will be available to stream. And people have made their feelings quite plain about this sad fact online.
Taking to X/Twitter, one person said they were trying to act “unbothered” by being unable to watch the hit series in the UK. They also shared a GIF of Adele looking nonchalant at a sports game.
Someone else shared an image of Kermit the Frog watching the rain from inside with the caption: “Watching the timeline talking about heated rivalry drop when you live in the UK.” Similarly, someone else shared an image of a depressed looking Barney the Dinosaur likening that to “being a UK Heated Rivalry fan”.
Another X/Twitter user said it was “heartbreaking,” while others clamoured for updates on when it could be released.
Recently, the series’ director, Jacob Tierney, shut down a question over the two stars’ sexualities. He said: “I don’t think there’s any reason to get into that stuff.”
During a recent chat with Out magazine, Tierney revealed that Williams thought Storrie would “pin [him] down” during an audition. “And I was like, ‘Well, I think I cast this right,’” the director said.
The series also stars François Arnaud, Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova, Sophie Nélisse, and Callan Potter.
